About Ilona
Ilona began practising Satyanandayoga in Sydney Australia 2009. She was struck by how quickly this gentle style of yoga dropped her into a place of stillness and heightened awareness. This revelation inspired her to delve deeper into yoga’s offerings, and she completed a Diploma in Yogic Studies and Teacher Training from the Academy of Yoga Science.
Ilona is particularly inspired by the healing and uplifting bhakti yoga practice of mantra chanting and singing kirtan in community.
She is a practising Registered nurse of 25 years and has a background in Traditional Chinese medicine. Ilona happily shares her time between the RUH Trust and Well Bath.
Ilona teaches Gentle Hatha Yoga:
Fridays 10am – 11:15pm
"I love attending ilona’s class on a Friday. It provides the perfect transition at the end of my working week by enabling me to mindfully reconnect with myself. Ilona creates an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone, and I particularly enjoy her ease and openness in holding the class. It encourages me to slow down and become present to myself, mindfully connecting with the gross and subtle yoga movements. Although the class is pitched as a gentle hatha class, I feel you can work to the edge of your own flexibility and I always come away feeling soothed in my mind and enlivened in my body 💗"
