Getting started at Well Bath
What is Well Bath and what services do you offer?
Well Bath is a holistic wellness centre and yoga sanctuary nestled in the scenic Charlcombe countryside, just north of Bath city centre. We offer a comprehensive range of wellbeing services under one roof, including authentic yoga classes (from gentle hatha to dynamic Prana Kriya), chiropractic care, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, breathwork sessions, cupping therapy, sound healing, and kinesiology. Whether you’re seeking pain relief, stress reduction, or personal transformation, our expert team of practitioners provides tailored support for your wellness journey. We’re proud to be one of the most comprehensive wellness centres in Bath, Somerset, combining ancient healing wisdom with modern evidence-based techniques.
Where is Well Bath located and how do I get there?
Well Bath is located at Woolley Lane, Charlcombe, Bath, BA1 8BA – a peaceful countryside setting just a few minutes’ drive north of Bath city centre. Our wellness centre offers free on-site parking and stunning valley views. Don’t be fooled by the rural location; we’re easily accessible from central Bath, Bristol, and across Somerset and West Wiltshire. Many clients describe the journey to Well Bath as the first step in their relaxation – leaving the bustle of the city behind as they arrive at our tranquil sanctuary.
What are your opening hours?
We’re open seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, from 9am to 9pm. This allows us to accommodate a wide range of schedules, whether you prefer a morning yoga class in Bath before work, a lunchtime treatment, or an evening session to unwind after a busy day. Our full class schedule and treatment availability can be viewed on our homepage.
I've never been to a yoga class or wellness centre before – is Well Bath suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely! Well Bath welcomes complete beginners with open arms. In fact, if you think you’re too old, too inflexible, or have no experience, this is precisely why you should visit us. Our philosophy is that yoga and wellness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. Our teachers create inclusive spaces where everyone feels comfortable, and we offer a range of beginner-friendly classes such as Gentle Luna Flow, Gentle Hatha Yoga, and Supreme Release Yoga. Many of our most dedicated members were once nervous first-timers – we understand the courage it takes to walk through the door for the first time, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Do you offer yoga for men? I'm interested in men's yoga near me for beginners.
Yes! Men are warmly welcomed at all our yoga classes in Bath. Yoga is for everybody, and we have a growing community of men who attend our sessions regularly. Many male students initially feel uncertain about joining a yoga class, but our teachers are experienced in creating comfortable, inclusive environments. We’d recommend starting with classes like Gentle Luna Flow or Supreme Release Yoga, which offer a perfect introduction to yoga’s foundations while building strength and easing tension. Some men come along with a partner or friend initially, while others book in solo – both are absolutely fine. We also run a Men’s Fire Circle, which provides a supportive community specifically for men to connect, reflect, and grow.
Yoga Classes & Workshops
What types of yoga classes do you offer in Bath?
We offer a diverse range of yoga classes to suit every level and preference. Our offerings include Gentle Hatha Yoga for those seeking a slow-paced, supportive practice; Gentle Luna Flow for a calming, mindful flow with just the right amount of challenge; Supreme Release Yoga for deep relaxation and nervous system calming; and Prana Kriya Yoga – our signature breathwork-integrated yoga practice led by Joe, which many clients describe as transformative. We also offer more dynamic classes for those seeking a physical challenge. All our yoga teachers are highly qualified and passionate about sharing authentic practices. Check our weekly schedule on our Classes page for current timings.
What should I wear and bring to my first yoga class?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely – leggings, joggers, or loose-fitting trousers work well, paired with a t-shirt or fitted top. Avoid anything too baggy that might slip over your head during forward folds. We practice barefoot, so no special footwear is needed. We provide yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and any props you might need, all included in your class fee. If you have your own mat and prefer to use it, you’re welcome to bring it along. We recommend bringing a water bottle and arriving 10 minutes early for your first class so you can settle in without feeling rushed. We also have changing facilities and secure storage for your belongings.
Do I need to be flexible or fit to start yoga?
This is one of the most common concerns we hear, and the answer is a resounding no. Yoga is not about touching your toes or achieving perfect poses – it’s about connecting with your body, improving your wellbeing, and moving in ways that feel good for you. Flexibility actually develops as a result of regular practice, not as a prerequisite for starting. Our teachers offer modifications for every pose, ensuring that each student can participate at their own level. Whether you can barely touch your knees or you’re naturally bendy, you’ll find a supportive space at Well Bath to explore what yoga can offer you.
What is Prana Kriya Yoga and how is it different from regular yoga?
Prana Kriya Yoga is a powerful breathwork-integrated yoga practice led by Joe, our founder. Unlike traditional yoga classes that focus primarily on physical postures, Prana Kriya combines movement with specific breathing techniques to create a transformative experience that works on physical, mental, and emotional levels. Many clients describe it as life-changing – a practice that literally alters their perception of reality and welcomes in healing energy. The class runs slightly longer than our standard sessions and is priced at £20 (compared to £15 for regular classes) to reflect this extended, intensive format. It’s suitable for all levels, though the experience can be profound, so we recommend speaking with Joe if you have any questions before attending (see our Contact page).
What workshops and special events do you offer?
Beyond our regular class schedule, we offer a variety of workshops and special events throughout the year. These have included sound healing sessions with crystal bowls and gong baths, Kirtan (devotional chanting) gatherings, Druidic storytelling with mead sacrament, Shamanic Breathwork and other breathwork intensives, the Men’s Fire Circle (a supportive community for men), and seasonal workshops on specific themes. Our workshops provide deeper exploration of practices and often include extended sessions not available in regular classes. Check our Workshops page at for upcoming events, and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about new offerings (see bottom of this page).
Holistic Treatments & Therapies
What holistic treatments are available at Well Bath?
We offer a comprehensive range of holistic treatments at our wellness centre in Bath, including chiropractic care for spinal health and pain management; acupuncture for restoring energy flow and treating various conditions; therapeutic massage for tension relief and relaxation; cupping therapy for deep muscle release; Tui Na (Chinese therapeutic massage); kinesiology for whole-body balancing; and sound healing for relaxation and emotional wellbeing. Each treatment is delivered by a qualified, experienced practitioner committed to your wellness journey. Visit our Treatments page to learn more about each therapy and book your session.
Do you have a chiropractor near Bath? What conditions can chiropractic care help with?
Yes, we have experienced chiropractors at Well Bath who provide professional chiropractic care for the Bath, West Wiltshire and Somerset area. Chiropractic treatment focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system, particularly the spine. It can help with conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, shoulder pain, and general muscle tension. Our chiropractors use a range of techniques, from traditional adjustments to gentler approaches, tailored to your specific needs and comfort level. Chiropractic care is a drug-free, non-invasive approach that aims to restore proper alignment and function, supporting your body’s natural healing ability.
I'm interested in acupuncture but nervous about needles – what should I expect?
It’s completely natural to feel nervous about acupuncture if you’ve never tried it before. The good news is that acupuncture needles are nothing like the needles used for injections or blood tests – they’re extremely fine, about the width of two strands of hair. Most people feel little or no pain during insertion; some experience a mild tingling or warmth, which is actually a sign that the treatment is working. During your session, needles are placed at specific points and left in place for 20-30 minutes while you relax. Many clients find the experience deeply relaxing and leave feeling either energised or pleasantly calm. Our qualified acupuncturists in Bath will explain everything and answer any questions before your first treatment.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
We understand that choosing the right treatment can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re new to holistic therapies. At Well Bath, we follow a three-pronged approach: ‘Get Well’ (for those recovering from pain or illness), ‘Be Well’ (for maintaining ongoing health), and ‘Do Well’ (for deeper transformation and thriving). If you’re unsure where to start, we recommend contacting us directly at in**@*********co.uk or calling 07986 380327. Our team can discuss your specific needs and recommend the best pathway for you – whether that’s seeing a therapist first, starting with gentle yoga classes, or exploring our workshops.

Cancellations made within 24 hours will be fully charged (for pay-as-you-go) or deducted from your class pass. We understand that life happens, but this policy ensures we can offer cancelled spaces to other clients and fairly compensate our teachers and therapists for their time. If you have a genuine emergency, please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
