About Flora
Flora found the world of Yoga as a teenager as a way of coping with personal hardship and of finding stress-relief. Flora’s journey began with the practices of Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga, which brought her to her first teacher training. Shortly after, the combination of injury and burnout led her to finding one of her dear teachers Kaya Mindlin, with whom she went on a deep dive studying Yoga Nidrā, Supreme Release Yoga Therapy and other aspects of the Vedic tradition such as scriptural studies, Vāstu and Tantra. These practices and teachings helped Flora out of intense physical pain and build emotional resilience during one of the most challenging times of her life. She now specializes in sharing these deeply restorative and nourishing yoga practices – Yoga Nidra and Supreme Release Yoga – with individuals who find themselves in need of rejuvenation and replenishment.
Flora travelled all the way to the US to learn Advanced Hands-On SRY Therapy techniques from Kaya Mindlin, and is currently the only practitioner in the UK trained in this unique approach of Yoga Therapy.
In addition to her education as a Therapeutic Yoga Teacher, Flora has completed academic studies in Psychology (B.Sc.) and is a qualified Ayurvedic Health Educator. She has undergone intensive studies with the International Institute of Ayurveda (IIA), including private mentorship with Ayurvedic Doctor Victor Brière and an in-person clinical internship at the Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre in Shiroda, India. Her Ayurveda background informs all of Flora’s work. She also offers Ayurvedic Health Consultations as a standalone service or integrated into individual yoga therapy packages.
“Wow. I realised that I’ve never actually fully felt deep embodied relaxation before starting this experience with Flora. Every time I really let myself properly relax my entire body in the session, it’s a whooosh of blissful calm. Flora makes me feel so safe, I trust her completely to hold me while I let go. Her calming voice guides you through the sessions with ease, never having to worry about what’s next. This was a very new experience for me, but I’m so grateful that I’ve gotten to experience yoga therapy. It’s really changed my life for the better. I am more in tune with my body, I’m able to realise I’m holding my muscles tight even when I’m ‘relaxing’ by watching a movie, and intentionally let them relax. When I’m lying awake wondering why I can’t fall asleep at night, I do a little body scan and realise I’m actually not relaxed at all, and now I have the awareness and ability to send myself into a fully relaxed state. It’s been transformational. I can’t recommend Flora enough!”
